Regular visitors to SAAM would have noticed some considerable disruptions to our entrances for more than a year. We are pleased to report that the the light at the end of the tunnel was a train coming the other way. The Port Dock Rail project (including the Port Dock Station) is now fully operational.
Vehicle entry is at 16 Bedford Street, Port Adelaide, near the corner of Perkins Drive and Bedford Street. Look for our colourful sign or search Google for South Australian Aviation Museum.
Please Note: We no longer have any access to Lipson Street.
Pedestrian entry is from the Adelaide to Outer Harbour Greenway.
We are 7mins walk from the Port Dock Station along Barlow Street
(longer if you detour via Pirate Life Brewery).
Cyclist entry is from the Adelaide to Outer Harbour Greenway.
It is about 12km from Adelaide to SAAM along the Greenway.

You can catch a train from Adelaide Railway Station to Port Dock Station.
It is a 22min ride and trains leave Adelaide every 30 mins.
SAAM is 7mins walk from the Port Dock Station along Barlow Street
Busses to Port Adelaide now have an interchange at Port Dock Station.
These are 117, 118, 150, 230, 232, 252, 254, 333, & 361.

Opening Hours
SAAM is open from
10am to 4pm every day except Christmas Day
(last entry is usually 3pm, but this is negotiatable with desk staff).
Groups
If you are bringing a group to SAAM, please conatct us and make a booking.
This will allow us the chance to have more staff on duty to assist.
Tours
If you would like to have a guided tour, please contact us and make an appointment.
Tours can be small group or large group (more than 1 tour guide).
Special Interest Days
Once or twice a year, we will hold an engine run and open cockpit day.

(subject to approval by SAAM executive). Please

Ask at the front desk about our Junior Supporters Program.
For $10 juniors get a hat, badge and unlimited free entries for a year when accompanied by an adult.
