SAAM has a well organised restoration and maintenance workshop.
Major projects underway are the restoration of
Fairey Battle N2188 (a WW2 training
plane at Port Pirie),
Avro Anson EF954 (a WW2 training plane at Mallala) and
Victor Air Tourer VH-BWT (used by the Royal South Australian Aero Club and Chris Sperou). These aircraft are in the workshop, which is not generally accessible by the public. If you have a particular interest in aircraft retoration or one of these aircraft and wish to view them, it can sometimes be arranged subject to how busy the workshop is on any particular day (Ask at the front desk).
Dassault/GAF Mirage A3-115 is also undergoing restoration (on view in Hangar 2).
Other recent Restorations include a Qantas Tug, SATAS Engine Test Rig, Qantas (Hastings Deering) Air Stairs and Clarktor Tug.
