Support the preservation of South Australian aviation history
The South Australian Aviation Museum collects, preserves and displays items connected to South Australian aviation history.
Donations of aviation items, memorabilia and financial support help SAAM preserve aircraft, records, artefacts and stories for future generations. There are several ways to support the museum, depending on the type of donation you would like to make.
Financial donations are tax deductable.
Ways to donate to the South Australian Aviation Museum
Donate aviation items to SAAM
If you have aircraft parts, books, models, photographs, log books, uniforms, memorabilia, records or other aviation-related items, please contact SAAM before bringing them to the museum.
Make a donation directly to SAAM
Smaller financial donations can be made directly to SAAM at the front desk. These donations help support the museum’s everyday work, displays, preservation activities and visitor experience.
Donate through the SAAM Foundation
For tax-deductible financial donations or larger philanthropic support, donations can be made through the South Australian Aviation Museum Foundation.
Donating aviation items to SAAM
SAAM's primary focus is on collecting, preserving and displaying items that relate to South Australian Aviation History.
Please note:
- SAAM also accepts donations of items that relate to Australian Aviation History generally
- SAAM can only accept items if you have clear legal title.
- Donated items must fit within the Museum's Collection and Management Policy.
- Donated items will be displayed or stored for future reference at the museum's discretion
- SAAM reserves the right to sell or trade donated items to other aviation museums.
- If you have items you would like to donate, please call us on 08 82401230 (between 10am and 4pm).
In the case of books, models and other common items, SAAM staff will compare them with items that we have in our collection and decide whether to keep them or place them for sale on our trading table or sell them at special events. In the case of models specifically, we are keen to obtain good quality 1/48 scale models of RAAF types.
Financial donations to SAAM
If you are in the position to help us financially, you can donate directly to SAAM at our front desk.
These donations help support the museum’s ongoing work, including the care of displays, preservation activities, visitor facilities and the day-to-day operation of the museum.
Tax-deductible donations through the SAAM Foundation
If you would like your donation to be tax-deductible, you can donate through the South Australian Aviation Museum Foundation.
The SAAM Foundation is an incorporated charitable trust that receives tax-deductible donations and distributes funds to support the museum’s future development and sustainability.
The Foundation’s mission is to inspire donors and benefactors to connect with SAAM’s aviation heritage and contribute to the museum’s future.
