SAAM - Restoration of Fokker Friendship F27/100

VH-CAT was originally purchased by the DCA and primarily used as a calibration tool for airport approach systems. Later in its life the CSIRO bought the aircraft to use as and Airbourne Research Vehicle.

Various scientists used the aeroplane for atmospheric research and cloud physics experiments. (See separate story).

For the past several years the Fokker has been stored in the open at Parafield Airport. Recently it was acquired by the Museum and is being restored.
