SAAM - De Havilland DH112 Sea Venom

The Sea Venom was a descendant of the DH100 Vampire, upgraded and navalised for carrier operations. These modifications include an arrester hook, for deck landings and folding wings. Like the Vampire, the fuselage is built up from layers of Balsa Wood and Plywood, while the wings and tail booms are of conventional aluminium constructions. The Royal Australian Navy operated 39 of the type from 1956 until 1978, from the carrier HMAS Melbourne until 1967.
